The effective communication among the Maitland and Newcastle sites of Beresford company is not possible with simple router and maintained ISP connection. The effective support to increased engineers on both sites and dealing customers requires a well implemented network at this Beresford company. With increased growth of this Beresford company, the network infrastructure will also be changed to handle the increased user load. The engineers working on both sites will require secured communication for their regular activities. Thus, to maintain security and reliability in the networking operations and performed communication, new network implementation is recommended to this Beresford company.
All the three campuses of Newcastle and new site of Maitland can perform the secured communication through the proposed new network design. This new design will provide scalability to the business operations of Beresford company. The seamless connections among all sites can easily be developed for this Beresford company. The ISP connection is essential for WAN implementation at Beresford company and a dedicated ISP connection will be proposed in new design. The new design will also make use of cloud resources for maintaining its services. The new design will maintain quality routers and switches for providing services on all sites of Beresford company. All engineers working on different sites of Beresford company can perform secured communication and can also use cloud resources for storing data and reports.
Proposing a new network design to the Beresford company will require a deep understanding of networking concepts. The use of cloud services is making it an effective and easy design but high configuration of PPP, GRE, NAT and other important techniques will become essential. The allocation of IP addresses (Private and public) becomes important for developing secured communication among the provided sites of Beresford company. The services of NAT and DHCP will handle the IP allocation at Beresford company. The 802.1q trucking will be performed to all created VLANs. The implementation of ACL and maintained interfaces will help in maintaining effective security for the proposed network to Beresford company.
All the devices will maintain proper configuration and connections with ISP. The proposed network topology to this Beresford company will maintain SSH on its defined routers. The synchronization of logging to the console window will also be maintained. For implementation of high security on all the devices, encryption will be used. The implementation of encryption will provide security to all the communication performed among both sites of Beresford company. Most of the recommended devices to this network will be from Cisco. The IPv4 and IPv6 addresses as provided in the case will be assigned to the devices used in this network configuration. the required serial and fast Ethernet based connection are well developed for connecting both sites of Beresford company.
The logical network design for the Beresford company is developed in Packet tracer. The provided base topology is being used with some modifications. The required serial and fast Ethernet based connections are developed among the routers, switches and end user devices. Both type of IP allocation is also carried out for these installed devices for maintaining secured communication among both sites of Beresford company. The PPP and HDLC are carried out for maintaining secured connections with the ISP. The GRE tunnel is also developed for connecting the branch offices of Beresford company by making serial connections among the used routers. The required loops among the switches are also developed for ensuring the security of performed communication within the created VLANs. Thus, the developed logical diagram for proposed new network at Beresford company to connect it's both sites developed in Packet tracer is supplied below:
This design is showing use of six different routers and three switches which are creating VLANs for the branch office of Beresford company. All the required technologies and services for securing this network are developed properly. The implementation of wireless network and servers is additionally carried out for the base topology. The 802.1q and 802.11ac are mainly implemented in the proposed design for maintaining effective communication.
The implementation of this network design to all created VLANs for both sites of Beresford company requires proper IP allocation. The IPv4 allocation is carried out for all the developed tables. The table showing IPv4 allocation to different departments working as separate VLANs is supplied below:
