Recent years have witnessed a huge growth of artificial technologies and its associated techniques and methods being employed in the various segments. Thus paying heed to its importance while analysing its impact on different fields this literature review aims to discuss the current and future implications of AI. In addition, it also highlights the intelligence technologies currently being utilized for enhancing the robotic process automation. The impact and development of robotic machines along with their real-life applications has been thoroughly analysed and outlined in this study. The research comprises of the data from renowned conglomerates that are resorting to AI-based models for improving the effectiveness of their services. Every aspect of technology including its current and future growth profile has been covered under this research. All authentic sources including journals and research papers were used to gather the most legitimate information for the technological trends. Hence, the research presented through this report is all inclusive result of thorough research and findings.
Underpinning the growth that AI holds for future generations, there has been huge work in the research and development of its techniques and methodologies. There has been a lot of research in the dedicated segment of robotics to analyse the effect of AI methods on the development of Chabot and expert machines that have the capability to imitate the human behaviours. However, the Robotics has been a major area of implementation for the AI associated techniques. The AI techniques that support the planning and designing of robotic systems include Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), Expert Systems (ES), Support Vector Machines, Genetic Algorithms (GA) and various other methods comprising vision, voice and pattern recognition systems.
Incorporating these intelligent methods and techniques in the Robotic machines have enabled the reduction in time and processes that were previously being involved. Additionally, these automated systems have become more robust due to the integration of AI methods. Therefore to highlight their importance this study aims to showcase a few of the most prominent applications utilising the AI techniques and methods.
Artificial Neural Networks (ANN)Ever since the ANN technology has evolved it has been widely associated with the field of robotic controlling. Basically, the ANN refers to the process of modelling machines according to the structure of the human pains neural network. The artificial neural networks work by learning from environments and examples rather than programming (Khorasani amp Yazdi, 2017). The prototypes that work on the artificial neural network technology hold the capability of supporting highly dynamic environments as well.
Natural Language Processing (NLP)NLP refers to the ability of machines to interpret the human language. This method of AI basically deals with designing basic speech and language recognition systems that are capable of comprehending human speeches similar to the way human beings do. The NLP machines are based on the deep learning models and algorithms that facilitate the machines to imitate the human-like learning approach to gain knowledge. The NLP systems are basically employed in designing and developing the sentimental analysis and predictive analytic systems.
According to ( Makridakis, 2017), the evolution of technologies has been quite tremendous over recent years. There has been a huge proliferation of scientific methodologies in almost all potential areas of development and national importance. From simplifying mundane daily tasks to mitigating critical issues of defence warships, AI has created a huge impact almost on all the areas of human life. In fact, it has been a forerunner in the area of technological innovation and advancement. The exceptional capabilities of AI to automate machines along with encompassing the functionality to behave like human pains have made the AI techniques to simplify the complex tasks involving human interventions.
Additionally, in support of this has been found that the levels of intelligence exhibited by AI techniques even surpass the reasoning and logical capabilities of human pains. Digital assistants, automated systems, and smart devices further aid the professionals in identifying the potential areas of improvement. They help them in getting better insight and finding improved solutions for dealing with the prevalent problems of the healthcare, agricultural, and manufacturing industries.
In fact, the AI techniques that have been employed in the different areas of research and development have led to the growth of automation processes to gain momentum. The huge potential that this technology encompasses under its hood has persuaded many of the acclaimed nations to empace the AI disruptions in their legal and financial proceedings. Including the AI based smart solutions will help the authorities curb crime and ensure better safety for the general public.
However, in contrast to this (Smith amp Anderson, 2014) has stated that the inculcation of AI technologies would result in the huge disruption of the legal frameworks within an organization leaving a number of people jobless. Moreover, making the machines smarter than human beings can result in dire consequences in future. Employing AI-based algorithms on social media platforms may even result in the arousal of some unforeseen consequences. These may also disturb the cultural and regional peace of areas. Facebooks recent decisions to change its news feed algorithm clearly highlights the issues related to this (Tufekci, 2015).
Likewise, it has been found that despite the number of good applications the widespread use of AI technologies may pose risk to the security of organizations. Employing AI techniques the hackers can easily pervade through the organizations IT infrastructure and can even go unnoticed. Supporting the statement American internet security firm- Wepoot has found that about 91 of professionals stay concerned about the cyber-attacks occurring due use of AI technologies (Artificial intelligence n.d.). Along with this, it has been also found that the emergence of new robotic technologies is proposed to raise a number of ethical and societal issues. Applications of technology
The assimilation of AI technologies resulting in revolutionary innovations has effectively garnered the attention of many big conglomerates. Few of the biggest competitors of global arena including Tesla, Amazon, COCA-COLA and Apple Inc. have empaced the AI-based solutions.
However, the automotive industry has been at the forefront of introducing intelligence systems. The debut of self-driving robotized cars and industrial robotic machines have been quite significant inventions in the car technologies. According to the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), the invention of car robots is believed to be revolutionary development that will yield the positive results in the coming years.
Additionally, the US military has also resorted to the path of employing artificial techniques and methods (Gilreath et al., 2013). For all military applications ranging from problem detection and threat mitigation, the US government aspires to embed automated technologies and robotic systems in its warships. Thus in order to support its development, the US government has partnered with various educational institutions to promote research in the AI segment. For further harnessing of the growth of technology, the US government is investing hugely in the following sector.
Furthermore, the Chinese tech giant, Alibaba Group has incorporated AI algorithms in its maps technology for filtering out the best routes possible for delivery. This AI inclusion has increased the pands creditability in the e-commerce segment. Moreover, through this smart logistic system, the company has witnessed a huge growth in its revenues. This has been possible due to the 10 reduction in vehicle usages and 30 in travelling distances.
This study reviewed the AI techniques being employed for achieving automation in different industries. After carrying out comprehensive research it has been found that the future that the AI-powered machines have in the coming years is going to be quite fruitful and productive. The impacts that are proposed to be introduced through the expansion of this technology are going to benefit both, the scientific as well as the common communities. Thereby flaring up all areas of computer science studies Artificial intelligence and cognitive computing technologies are not just going to harness the growth of technological advancements but would also lead to work for the improvement of socio-economic backdrops of the common people. Furthermore, it has been analysed that in order to minimise the associated risks better planning and implementation of AI technologies is required to be incorporated.
