Change Management Plan

Introduction

The Electrical/Electronic Systems Project Management Office in Ford is present to ensure that project management tools, methods and processes adopted by the organization are standardized and it also ensures timely project management delivery in the organization. The Project Management Office in Ford is also responsible for taking monthly change control action plans in orders to improve and eliminate the gaps in the expected and actual performance levels in the organization. Changes introduced by the Project management plan leads to changes in the personnel and allocation of resources in the organization (Monteiro et al., 2016). Therefore, it can be evaluated that the Project Management Office plays a big role in the project execution of the organization.

However, it has been evaluated that in spite of various efforts of the organization to engage the personnel of the organization with the project, the objectives of existence of Project Management Office is still unclear to the Electronic/Electrical Systems Engineering organization.

Purpose of Change Management Plan

The purpose of the change management plan is to make the Electronic/Electrical Systems Engineering organization aware about the role and responsibilities of the Project Management office in the organization. Thus, there exists a need to transfer the leadership of the project management team from the engineering divisions to the professional project managers. The transfer of the leadership authority from the engineering division to the professional project managers in the organization will make it easy for the organization to understand the role and responsibilities of the Project Management office in the organization.

In order to maintain the resistance of the employees effectively in the organization, it is important that the employees of the organization know that PMO helps in ensuring that the company strategy and the projects are coherent, it is also responsible for making sure that the resources of the organization are optimally utilized and there is efficient information and communication flow in the organization.

Process group and life cycle of the project

The transfer of the leadership from the engineering department to the professional project managers will demand the professional project managers to have leadership potential in order to make the entire organization familiar with the role of PMO in the organization so that the organization did not witness resistance from the employees. It will also be important that professional project managers draft the required plan to lead the organization effectively and maintain consistency between the company strategy and the projects of the organization. The professionals had to be great communicators while addressing the awareness issue that the organization is currently facing (Paton amp Andrew, 2019)

The organization will have to ping changes in its each stage of project management cycle as the leading authority will change from the engineering department to the professional project managers. The project managers have to initiate the plan by drafting the entire plan into work peakdown structure which needs to be made according to the goal and objectives of the project plan.
