Neck spasm is a fast, uncontrolled movement of the muscle in response to tension, excess, fatigue and muscle pain induced by accident or disease, or uncontrollable discomfort and trembling. The spasm will affect skin, turning or shivering in some cases like cervical dystonia for all patients. This study aims to develop clear understanding about this disorder by evaluating diagnosis and treatment process and further nursing intervention and executions are described.
Illness
The 13-years old girl has a jerk movement in her neck and this problem is potential for her to move body parts properly. From the case study, it is clear that head and Torso is another major problem for this teenager and it has to be reduced for better feasibility of life (From the case study).
History
No such past history is detected for this patient yet and she is under observation. However, serotonin intoxication is determined as a potential severe past history for her that has to be assessed (From the case study).
Assessments
Nurses to provide possible treatment criteria for 13-year-old girl follow CENA standard and it is helpful to identify her critical problems as well as solution. Case study has provided in brief idea about clinical nursing process applied for the patient and several assessments regarding toxicology is also elaborated (From the case study).
Diagnosis
Generally, question-answer session is held for all patients as a diagnostic practice for this disease and communication with patients are necessary. In case of 13-year old girl, this option is chosen to understand the viability of disease in a potential manner.
Treatment
Case study has provided idea that 13-year-old girl has provided medicines and several other exercises are also recommended for her to red rid from this disease in an easy way.
Pathophysiology
Involuntary twisting of neck and its adjoining areas is a common cause of this disease by which additional parts are also affected. On the other hand, Vacca (2019) has focused on headache as a side effect of neck jerk to reduce potentially of an individual. In case of the 13-year old girl, tingling of shoulder is assessed as a potential side effect of neck jerking.
Nurses to propose correct remedial practice for -year old girl and this helps to propose correct solution for this young patient follow intergovernmental healthcare agreements. All the mode of interventions is enlisted below to understand internal practice of neck jerking cessation in a better way.
All the nursing assessments that are described above can be accomplished by following CENA standard and different domains can also be addressed to implement such criteria for 13-year-old patient.
CENA standard is effective for any nursing intervention to provide better feasibility for study and analysis of the entire domain related to both patient and nurses can be analysed in a proper manner. As pointed out by DeLauneet al. (2019), both the disease-based and symptom-based diagnosis can be possible under CENA standard because of correct legal framework and development of an individual can be possible. Along with this, professional development as well as increase in personal care can be possible under this medical standard for long time. On the contrary, Currieet al. (2018) argued that CENA standard is not effective for normal patient care as most of the criteria are related with emergency department. Therefore, normal physiological treatment is quite difficult under CENA standard.
13-year old girl is more or less happy with her treatment process as familiar environment is given to her within healthcare centre. She is able to flourish her hobby in painting within the hospital premises and for this reason, she thanked all the nurses and other medical and non-medical professionals.
It can be concluded from this study that nursing intervention is necessary for patients who have jerk movement in neck and all the practices can help to reduce viability of this disease. In case of 13 years old girl, CENA standard is maintained for developing nursing intervention and execution of emergency care. On the other hand, both the medicinal care as well as communication perspectives are suggested for the patient to improve her health condition. Moreover, perspective of this 13-year young girl about treatment is also reflectedto elaborate patient-based view for this study.
