Introduction
Communication is a process by which information, ideas or thoughts is exchanged between two or more persons through verbal or nonverbal forms of communication (Bramhall, 2014). Hence, it can be stated that communication focuses on transmitting ideas, facts or thoughts from one individual to another individual in such a way that another person receives the information, understand it easily and complete the process by providing the required feedback. The present report highlights on the effective communication skills possessed by nurses in health care services. With the effective communication among the nurses results provides quality of patient care within the setting that outcome in improving the patient satisfaction. The essay will also focus on addressing the significance of communication within the healthcare.
Main Context
Communication within healthcare organization
Communication structure is formal or informal. Formal communication means the exchange of information via formal channels which are made by healthcare staff. However informal communication refers to the exchange of information through an unorganized structure such as face to face conversations, through conducting informal meetings, etc. Communication is a critical aspect concerning health care association because it engages in sharing correct and accurate information with another group of members, nurses and other hospital staff will be the result of strong health of patients (Jasmine, 2009). It has been also assessed that effective communication leads to protect the patients, save cost and increase routine operational efficiency within the health care institution.
Therefore, effective communication can lead to impart effective medical care of patients that results in improving their health. There are different communication methods that are used within healthcare organization such as written and oral forms, verbal or nonverbal orders, reports, and team meeting to communicate with the patients and their family members. Nowadays, in health care organization with the advancement in technology management focuses on introducing the diverse equipment such as mobile communication, electronic media that have supported the nurses in imparting quality of services to patients. International service digital network (ISDN) is an international standard for sending video, voice, clip, and data through digital telephone which is more beneficial for service practitioners and patients (Rosenburg amp Gallo-Silver, 2011).
Hence, the recent technology will assist in improving the effective communication and builds a relationship between medical practitioners and patients of the within the healthcare setting that results in delivering the productive result to the different patients.
Elements of effective communication in health care
There are seven Cs of effective communication lays down which are used in both oral as well as written communication within the health care institution.

The communication must be complete with respect to context, words, facts, thoughts, knowledge and information. A complete massage develops the strong relationship and builds more trust within the health care settings.
2. Consideration
Effective communication must take consideration of patients feedback to modify the approach and policy as per the patients need when it is appropriate or relevant such as patients. It is required by nurses to take patients point of view, suggestions etc into the consideration to deliver quality of care services (Rubinell, et al. 2019).
3. Conciseness
It must be short or in brief as well as time saving or cost saving. Under this, the important factors must be covered and highlights, it avoids needless or excessive words.
4. Clarity
Message must be clear, understandable and complete clarity of thoughts which will enhance the understanding level of services users and medical practitioners.
5. Courtesy
Courtesy must be in respect to the medical practitioners as well as service user that will feature their respect in the health care setting.
6. Concreteness
Concreteness refers to be clear and specific rather than be fuzzy and general by the nurses so that patients may easily understand the required information (Kasap, amp Pozant, 2019).
7. Correctness
Correctness refers to be clear, exact, correct and well managed within the health care institution.
Methods of communication in healthcare
There are several methods of communication stated in health care association such as
Listening and attending
Verbal
Non verbal
Written
Questioning
Listening plays a broader role in the communication, it means paying attention to what an individual is saying. The listing and attending process includes five stages- receiving, understanding, evaluating, identifying and responding. An active listener must hear and understand the message within the healthcare setting.
Verbal communication refers to give clear attention without saying to patients and clients. But the message should be clear, accurate, truthful and meaningful. Verbal communication includes what we speak or write, tone or pitch matches the message or not and whether the friendly words are used or not, etc. This is the most effective communication method within the healthcare services that needed to be taken into the consideration by the nurses at the time of communicating with the patients (Stanford, et al. 2019).
Nonverbal communication is all about body language, gestures, and posters which include position, eye contact, facial expression, touch, and physical appearance. Nonverbal communication is a positive tool because a body language says a lot about the patients interest and engagement with respect to illness and injuries.
Written communication, health care services need to keep superior written records of the care given to the patients for mainly three reason such as to make sure the treatment can continue, no matters how many staff are available or not, to record the care that has been given to the patients and to ensure that a precise and accurate record to be used as an evidence at the time of legal issues (Bagian, 2019).
So, it has been evaluated that each method of communication is important in the health care field because it communicates on a daily basis with the patients, medical staff and employees who work within the health care settings.
Significance of communication within the setting
Within the health care settings, communication is an essential component for each of the member such as health care staff, members, practitioners, patients, and clients. Association with strong communication policies can improve patients health while those settings that dont have fundamental communication policies can adversely impact on the health of their patients. Having a great communication between service staff and patients meets many advantages such as- it significantly contributes to the capacity to provide clients with individualized concern that will be the result of greater patient outcomes (Asan, et al.2019).
Second, interpersonal communication can satisfy the native needs of the patient such as self-esteem needs, safety, and security, love respect and confidence that further will assists in patients treatment and enhancing health of the service users within the health care settings. Third, effective communication builds a relationship between individuals and trying to understand a complicated problem so that they may avert the severe situation. For instance, if there are no good relations is existing between management and other staff, therefore, it will be the overall impact of productivity and adversely effects on the health of service users. Fourth, to overcome barriers in communication, to avoid or mitigate conflicts and deliver better results within the health care institution.
Fifth, effective communication also helps to mitigate unnecessary accidents within the hospital and maintain a great benchmark of care (Sudore, 2019). Sixth, effective communication aids to people who are working in the health care association, because everybody knows how to work, their work division, roles, responsibilities, and duties. Therefore, everybody has a clear vision of their work and task. Seventh, good communication among a team of health care influences the quality of work, working relationship, job satisfaction, and overall productivity.
Strategies to improve quality of care through communication
There are several strategies available to improve the quality of work between the patients, families, clinicians and employees within the health care such as focus on team work, collaborative team and to provide complete health care services. The below strategy supports and enhance the quality of work at their workplace via effective communication techniques-
First, create an effective team to identify areas for improvement this team includes hospital leaders, nurses medical staff. This team can help in improvement of health of patients and taking a feedback from the clients (Bramhall, 2014).
Second, recognize challenges in changing behaviour for practitioners and staff every member of health care brings innovative idea to understand this perspective. Last develop goals to improve communication supervisors and top management of health care can formulate plans and policies to achieve desired goals within the health care institution. This strategy can also improve quality to meet other goals of the institution such as accidents, serious injuries etc.
ConclusionIt can be concluded that effective communication in health care department is a backbone for each health care institution. This report highlights on effective communication, its elements, methods and strategies followed by health care association. So, it can be said that lack of effective communication can decrease confidence level of service users, increase stress level, and arises a lot of conflicts within the health care setting. Poor communication between the management and staff can have extremely adverse effects on any institution that can be the result of serious injury of patients. Thus, such instance can have negative consequences for the patients which may lead to server health issues within the health care institution.
