Introduction

Ethics is described as “ethical values that direct a person’s or group’s actions.” thus, in a perfect world, principles must play the eventual function when making a choice (Banks, 2016). If ethics are the values that direct one’s actions then, preferably, all judgment must be made completely based on ethics. Regrettably, such is not constantly the case. A few troubles occur when individuals attempt to make the right choice, particularly as a leader. Initially, ethics may signify diverse things to diverse people. Someone people’s principles might be based on a rule or their understanding of what is correct or incorrect. Usually, I do consider there are several actions that all can consent upon as being moral or immoral. In the following, I will converse a workplace ethical dilemma that I have observed in my recent employment. I will discuss the necessary points of the dilemma and how this dilemma intersects with my standards.

Ethical Dilemma Analysis

After associating with a consulting company in 2018, I came to know that senior workers were exaggerating their travel compensation to boost their salary packages. They also persuade me to do the same so that I will be part of the unprincipled process and those people would have no grievance from me. In coming to a choice, I had to deem my faithfulness to a colleague, reliability to the business, and sincerity. Not all of these principles can be maintained, one or more have to be dishonoured to arrive at a result. While I strongly consider and direct my decisions based on moral values, I made a choice not to forge travel payment and included in inequitable custom (Iphofen, 2016). I brought this subject to the instant notice of the administration. The organizations carry out an investigation and react with a severe business rule with the effectual interior rule to stop any future mistreatment by the expert. Had I dishonoured the doctrine of my moral code, it would have engrained the seed of unprincipled behaviour and I would have been converted into a trained person to breach most facet of my moral structure.

I did not negotiate on my principles of being honest and sincere; however, I stressed my affiliation with fellow workers. For instance, most people recognize that theft from someone or murder is incorrect. Though, it is hard, at times, to have related ethical prospects of others as one does of themselves as this distinction in the understanding of principles. In addition, there is a period when it might be easier for a manager to make an unethical choice for an instant gain or to conciliate the needs of others (George & Dane, 2016). Examples of these comprise leaders who misuse money or use other plans to build money rapidly or illegally.

In addition administration overhaul with expenditure, reporting actions forced rigid internal control and took punitive action against a few workers. The company started offering free learning to workers on moral choice-making to promote an overall moral environment. All workers were capable to know and converse moral principles and moral problems in the business. There is no disengagement between what the company did and what my principles require. The business was capable to restore faith and self-assurance among workers and reinstate logic of moral achievement in me. In this exact case, my moral values were in disagreement with the company rule. My judgment was base on my personal value structure rather than on the managerial standard Instead of focusing my view, the corporation must have tackled this concern on moral terms and altered the method it does business in these circumstances. Minor moral drop can seem nontoxic, but they instill in us a hard-to-break custom of deformed thoughts (Schwartz, 2017). Ethical choice making is the bases for any sustainable company that will assist understand the finest principles present in workers and change business relations.

Application of Theoretical Concepts

Communication is a major element concerning personal ethics. As a formerly state, ethical principles vary for different people. Thus, I find it most complicated to try to comprehend the reason for others' principles, rather than communicating my personal. I tend to be a very direct individual. I get straight to the point, particularly as a leader. So, I just share with others what I think and value. I also converse with my ethics through my actions. If my choices are made according to my moral attitude, then others must be able to know, through my actions, what my ethics are. My ethics comprise standards such as admiration, sincerity, caring, and justice (Engelbrecht, Heine & Mahembe, 2017). When making a choice, I tend to think of these four principles the most, in arrangement with how my selection might enhance the organization. The objective, for me, is to constantly help in making a business or someone else superior. These four principles tend to assist me to guarantee that my choice is well-rounded and fair. I have previously alluded to the role admiration plays in my decision making. I believe how I might converse a choice, or I consider other facets of people's lives and how this option might impact them. I attempt to promise that all of my options are deferential to others. I also aspire to forever be honest in my decision making. When I need support or help, I request it. I attempt to be as clear as probable about any alternative I have made and why. I am constantly willing to share my calculation and am open to suggestions from others.

Conclusion

Overall, being a moral decision-maker is significant to me. As a leader, I recognize that I play a part in establishing what is considered correct and incorrect, based on my actions and judgment. Expect to constantly be an instance, and being ethical is the base of setting a superior instance for others. I aim to demonstrate to people what my ethical values are based on my actions. At times, it can get complicated as I might let feeling cloud my decision, but after all, doing the correct thing for the sake of others is most significant to me.
