Marathon; for some it is a pleasure and for others a madness. What fires someone with so much enthusiasm to run underneath a burning sun in sweltering summers? Only a justified question, if you are not an admirer of long-distance running or if you are a psychology student. It is human nature to ask questions, but mine is to unearth the answers.
Just like the marathon players who have a particular gusto for running, I possess the same enthusiasm to pursue psychology at a degree level. The only difference I can discern is that my race track is the program duration and the reward will be to become a Psycho Oncologist, but what about the vigour required to cover-up this long-distance? Scholarship!
For me, a scholarship can be a decisive factor in carrying out self-initiated research projects without budget constraints. In my viewpoint, a financial endowment is more like an investment for the future and legitimate proof of concept to my scholarly achievements and a colossal motivation to further in my academic promenade with even more diligence and sincerity. Being a meritorious student through-out my academia, acquiring knowledge, more than anything else has been the true spark for me. Now, when I have chosen foreign shores to further my quest, getting the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship grant will aid me immensely in managing my living costs on the campus and will trigger my educational drive manifold to conduct original research in my field of study.,
Choosing to walk down on such a path in life is not something that occurred to me recently, rather my stature today is owed to perspiring efforts that I have put in exploring the discipline of Psychology with its ramifications. I would rather say that Psychology has been a part of my life for quite long, from something as inconsiderable as analyzing students in the cafeteria to taking extempore counselling sessions for various non-profit cancer treatment centres, immediately after concluding my schooling.
Greatly driven by the desire to aid the student community while quenching the pressing needs of dedicated teachers in nearby phrontisteries, I have also contributed to teaching social sciences to the students who were grappling with poor-self esteem and problems at home. I have aided them in actualizing their potential while imparting life lessons to influence their behaviours, strengths, willpower and decision-making abilities, eventually putting myself at a position from where I can give a particular shape to the next generation.
It is the sheer depth of psychology that fascinates me and there is a range of captivating topics that I want to explore at a degree level. It is clearly after several changes of life expectancies and callings that now I’m again at a point of commencing a new journey but the only change I have been able to identify is that no longer do I want psychology to be just an interest of mine, but now I wish to frame my career as a Psycho Oncologist.
Thus I request a scholarship to maximize my university experience through service-learning and volunteer opportunities and ensure that this financial endowment will be soon proved as an excellent investment for the field of Psychology.

Consciously focusing on consolidating my profile as an aspiring leader, at every step of my life, I interpreted the situations through different lenses, which inculcated an idiosyncratic analytical acumen to understand or feel what another individual is experiencing from within their frame of reference. It is one of my qualities that certainly worth its weight in gold and I’m confident enough to make most of this ability to catch the inner sight of prospective students, parents, and other university guests to facilitate and enhance student recruitment for the University of South Australia.
Collaborating with individuals from all walks of life, attempting to improve myself whilst fulfilling my potential in the light of my values; I have reached to a point which necessitates me to devote my learning to something larger than self, thus contributing towards the university’s goal accomplishment will be far more than just a task for me. Additionally, I will make sure that the student ambassador community maintains its high standard of service among the most energetic, engaging and enthusiastic student community of the University of South Australia abreast of significantly contributing in running and organizing academic as well as recreational events to aid scholar’s transition into university life and learning, and transition out into the workplace.
To further grow the university’s exposure and expand its recognition across the foreign shores, I will assist with marketing initiatives and meticulously leverage the social media pages of the university (mention a few) to promote the faculty of education. I am aware of the significance of fostering the well-being of international students, who encounter immense challenges relocating to a foreign place, thus I also wish to contribute my skills and time to promote and ensure positive experiences among the students living overseas and build great relationships with the students from different background.
