The brief: You are required to produce a photo essay of the politics around you.

Conditions: You must include 8 photos. Each photo must include your 'totem'. Each photo must have a 30 word caption. You must include a short 50 word introduction and 50 word conclusion. 8 photos: The photos must be different to one another. Each must be an example of the politics around you, in your daily life, in your town or city, and so on.

Your 'totem': As a means to ensure that the photo is yours you must include an object like a garden gnome or keyring in every photo.

30 word caption: Each photo must have a 30 word caption explaining what instance of politics is captured in it and why it matters.

50 word introduction and conclusion: To give the reader context for your photo essay you must provide them with a short 50 word introduction and conclusion. Choose your words wisely!

Note: Be courageous and think creatively. Talk to your friends and family about the task (i.e. get them to help you come up with ideas, travel, take photos, and so on). You might even like to take a photo of a consenting family member or friend who has been through a particular political experience then explain what that experience was and why it matters.
