Post-surgical ward nursing provides comprehensive care to patients throughout the important healing phase after surgery. This speciality works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to help patients recover from surgery (Mahama & Ninnoni, 2019). Post-surgical ward nurses do many important tasks that help patients recover from surgery. Continuous monitoring of patients' vital signs, pain levels, and wound healing process is the foundation of educated medical decision-making. Providing a variety of medications, including painkillers and antibiotics, offers effective post-operative care. This specialty's nurses attentively care for surgical incisions and dressings, promoting healing and preventing infections. These nurses educate patients and their families about post-operative care regimens, potential problems, and the complex recovery process. Additionally, their ability to support people recovering from surgery psychologically shows their empathy. Post-surgical ward nurses must collaborate with the healthcare team, respond quickly to emergencies, and improve communication to support recovery. Nurses can also specialise in surgical subspecialties like orthopaedics, neurology, and cardiovascular care, allowing them to pursue their passions.
