The airline industry is among the sectors greatly affected by the current Covid-19. The short term effects include; significant consolidation where airlines are declaring bankruptcy on their own (Center for Aviation, 2020). Examples include; Ravn Alaska Miami Air, Indigo airlines etc. 

The imposed measures to reduce the effects of Corona have necessitated a reduction in the number of passengers each plane carriers. Passengers must travel at a distance of one meter of each other. Airlines are keeping their flights to ensure they retain customer's loyalty. Due to the countries implementing lockdown in their various nations and restraining and prohibiting international flights it has caused a huge severe impact on the aviation industry (Rahman et al, 2020). This has also caused many people losing their jobs and occupations in this sector. Airlines might be forced to merge to avoid other companies. There speculations if the government does not bail out some airlines, they might end up joining to remain in business.

Airlines will avoid entering into significant contracts with their suppliers due to unlikely circumstances. For example, there some airlines that had purchased oil speculating a rise in prices.

After some time when finally after a solution to the Corona Virus is found, the airline industry will recover steadily (University of Denver, 2020). Air remains the fastest means of transport from one continent to the other. The need for international travel will necessitate air travel to regain its full potential in the future.

Research Questions

The following research questions need to be addressed in this study by the researcher:

• What kind of impact has the coronavirus pandemic caused on the aviation industry?
• Which domains and sectors have been gravely affected in the airline business?
• Whether any measures can be resorted to saving the industry?
• What will be the measures and policies if resorted to saving the airline industry of the world?

Methodology of Impact to Global Aviation Industry

In this study of research the most appropriate method will be of interpretivism. In this type of research exploratory research design would be the most appropriate as it will help the researcher to probe into every small detail and fact in the study that is “will air travel ever recover?” In this research, non probability sampling would be adequate as much of qualitative data would be used which would be easier to comprehend by the researcher. With regard to the present study, both qualitative and quantitative analysis and methodology would be apt and suitable to address to the above stated research questions. In addition to this, in this research study secondary data would be much useful to understand the topic of research and to find adequate outcomes of the study.
