The needs assessment is a systematic process that helps to provide information about the social issues or needs in a particular population or group, which helps to determine the issues where priority action needs to be taken [1]. It is a step-by-step process, and there are 6 steps present which are mentioned below. The first step is to determine the scope of this assessment, what is the need for it, several resources which are used, and the community which is involved [2]. The next step is to determine the criteria of the assessment, it is necessary to build a list of criteria that provides meaning to your context. It will also enable us to prioritize and evaluate the needs [3]. The third step is to have a defined plan for data collection, in this, it is necessary to define if it is a qualitative or quantitative study or mixed method study. Any existing source of data needs to be defined and a plan for analyzing and collecting data should be developed. The fourth step is the collection, analysis, and presentation of data [4]. All the data which is synthesized and presented should make some sense. The fifth step is to apply the criteria which are defined, the decision-making strategy should be developed. After this, the needs should be prioritized and the decision-making group should be decided. The last step is to identify the next step, risk or protective factors, consequences, and causes. All the effective approaches or interventions need to be reported and the finding should be presented in front of a stakeholder. Some common health promotion principle that has been identified is the Evidence-informed approach [5].
