The urinary incontinence is considered to be involuntary leakage of the urine that has a high prevalence in the older individual. Many complications are associated with urinary incontinence that also includes mental issue like anxiety and depression in older individuals. The major reason behind the urine inconsistency is due to the inhibitory effect of the descending serotonin pathway over the bladder contraction. The descending pathways are also directly related to depression and it links the prevalence of depression with urine inconsistency (Stickley et al., 2019).
