In the case study indicate it was revealed after the assessment that Mr. Smith is suffering from acute severe asthma that is the condition was the exacerbation of asthma occurs that increase complication. There are different triggering factor that initiates the inflammation in the lungs that lead to two conditions that include airways hyperresponsiveness and airways obstruction (Kostakou et al., 2019). The increase inflammation leads to hypersecretion of mucus, airways muscle constriction and swelling of bronchial membrane. There are different factor that triggers the asthmatic attack that includes allergens, irritants and others. The release of the inflammatory mediators leads to contraction of the airways smooth muscle which leads to narrowing of the airways. The reduce mucus clearance increase complication that causes airways remodelling. The carelessness toward the symptoms can lead to exacerbation of asthma and it increases issue for the patient (Bush, 2019). The symptoms of the exacerbation can directly be evaluated after the physical examination and the patient will show different symptoms as per the prognosis phase. The exacerbations lead to edema of airways mucosa, spasm of airways smooth muscle, injury and desquamation of the airways epithelium and cellular infiltration of the walls of the airways (Castillo et al., 2017).
